Criticism Mounts Over Pakistan’s Conduct at SCO Summit

Pakistan has once again courted controversy during the SCO summit by reportedly cropping Prime Minister Narendra Modi out of a group photograph of SCO leaders before sharing it on social media. The photograph was edited in a way that placed Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prominently in the centre, drawing criticism that Islamabad wanted its leader to stand out in the group picture.

Pakistan also reportedly edited an SCO round table meeting video to remove the portion showing Prime Minister Modi. Shehbaz Sharif shared the edited video on his official Facebook account. In contrast, Prime Minister Modi shared the complete group photograph featuring leaders of all 10 SCO member countries on his X account. The photograph also included Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
