Aqua farmers across Andhra Pradesh are observing a statewide bandh today, demanding a reduction in aqua feed prices. They say the rising cost of feed has increased production expenses, making aquaculture financially unsustainable. The protest aims to draw the government's attention to their long pending demands.
Aqua feed dealers have extended their support to the bandh by voluntarily shutting down aqua feed and aqua medical shops. Dealers said pending dues from farmers have been increasing due to the financial crisis in the sector. They urged the authorities to take immediate steps to address the issue and provide relief to aqua farmers.
