

Former cricketer Amanpreet Singh Gill, who played alongside Virat Kohli in Under-19 cricket, passed away suddenly on Wednesday night. The reason behind the 36-year-old cricketer’s death is yet to be known. His sudden demise has shocked the cricket fraternity. Amanpreet represented Punjab and picked up 11 wickets in six first-class matches. He was also part of the Kings XI Punjab squad during the inaugural IPL season.
Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, the Punjab Cricket Association, and Punjab Kings expressed grief over Amanpreet’s untimely death. Yuvraj described him as a hardworking person who loved the game deeply. Kohli prayed for strength for his family members. After retiring from active cricket, Amanpreet also served as a member of Punjab’s senior selection panel.
