The Supreme Court on Tuesday heard a petition filed by Telangana concerning issues related to the Polavaram project, Godavari water usage, and the proposed Banakacherla linkage. A bench headed by Justice Vikram Nath took up the matter, where Telangana sought notices to be issued to the Andhra Pradesh government along with interim injunction orders.
However, the apex court refused Telangana’s request, citing deficiencies in the main petition. The bench clarified that the matter cannot be heard until the errors are rectified. Telangana’s counsel informed the court that there are 15 respondents in the case. The court further stated that notices cannot be issued without proper scrutiny and that the case will be considered only after corrections are made.
