A controversial banner displayed during the Ashada festival celebrations at the famous Mariamman Temple in Attur, Salem district of Tamil Nadu, has triggered widespread criticism. The banner reportedly depicted TVK president and actor Vijay in the form of Ravana, while actress Trisha was portrayed in a divine form, drawing objections from devotees and local residents.
