Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Anitha has appealed to police constable aspirants not to be influenced by provocations or get involved in protests. She urged candidates to reflect on which government had actually created police recruitment opportunities. Anitha said the coalition government is prepared to fill 11,000 police posts every year as part of its job calendar. She also claimed that 9,793 police posts were filled between 2014 and 2019.
Anitha alleged that the previous YSRCP government did not fill even a single constable post and had left around 6,000 police posts announced through a notification unresolved. She said the coalition government had addressed the issues related to those posts after coming to power. The Home Minister advised constable aspirants not to jeopardise their careers through protests and said the coalition government had increased the stipend for constables to ₹12,000.
