Internal differences within the Telangana Congress have surfaced again, with party MLAs strongly condemning remarks made by Konda Sushmitha against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Government Whip Beerla Ilaiah and Whip Vemula Veeresham demanded that Minister Konda Surekha respond to the remarks and apologise to the party and government. They said issues concerning the party and government should be discussed on the CLP platform rather than in public. Veeresham also criticised Surekha’s explanation to the PCC disciplinary committee and sought strict action against those making remarks against the Chief Minister.
MLAs Balun Nayak, Naini Rajender Reddy and Veerlapalli Shankar also urged the Congress high command to take strict action against Surekha. They said the Congress came to power under Revanth Reddy’s leadership and that public criticism of the Chief Minister could damage the party. Naini Rajender Reddy demanded evidence for the allegations made by Sushmitha, while Veerlapalli Shankar said he would approach PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud and the disciplinary committee seeking action against those making statements against the party and the Chief Minister.
