

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed deep grief over the demise of veteran actress and Padma Shri awardee Sowcar Janaki. He said her passing was an irreparable loss to the film industry and extended his condolences to her family and admirers.
Recalling her remarkable career, the Chief Minister said Sowcar Janaki began her journey by performing in various roles in stage plays from a young age. She went on to establish herself as one of the respected actresses in Indian cinema, leaving a lasting impression over nearly seven decades.
Revanth Reddy recalled her outstanding performance in the film Sowcar, after which she became popularly known as Sowcar Janaki. He noted that she acted in around 400 films across Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, while also appearing in Hindi and Malayalam films. He praised her memorable performances in several acclaimed films, saying the characters she portrayed would remain etched in the hearts of audiences for generations.
