

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to make comprehensive arrangements for the Khelo India Youth Games 2026, which will be hosted by the state in December. He held a review meeting with Minister Vakiti Srihari and senior officials at the Bodhi Pavilion in MCR HRD on Tuesday to assess the preparations. The Chief Minister stressed the need to strengthen sports infrastructure and inspect existing stadiums in Hyderabad before upgrading them permanently to meet the requirements of various sporting events. He assured that the government would provide the necessary funds for the development works.
Revanth Reddy also directed officials to begin preparations for the opening and closing ceremonies, including the participation of distinguished guests, eminent sportspersons and film personalities. He called for clear division of responsibilities for infrastructure, event management and guest facilities. Officials were asked to involve Arjuna Award winners from Telangana, members of the Telangana Sports Hub Board, the Olympic Association and national-level sports representatives. With competitions in 20 sports planned as part of the Khelo India Youth Games, the Chief Minister instructed officials to identify venues sport-wise and ensure arrangements that reflect the true spirit of sportsmanship.
