CM Meets Army Officer.. Key Issues Come to the Fore!

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the state government is ready to work with the Indian Army to create more opportunities for local youth in various Army recruitment drives. During a meeting with Lieutenant General C. Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army’s Southern Command, at MCRHRD, the Chief Minister suggested setting up training centres at district headquarters to prepare young aspirants for Army recruitment. Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar expressed his willingness to support the establishment of such centres ahead of recruitment drives conducted across the country.

The meeting also focused on the Army’s role in disaster management. Revanth Reddy urged the Army to play a more active role in rescue operations, evacuation and rehabilitation efforts during floods and other disasters in Telangana. Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar assured that local Army authorities would be directed to take special initiatives during emergencies in the state. He also appreciated the Telangana government’s Musi River rejuvenation project.
