CM Is Spreading False Information on Coal Quality - Jagadish Reddy

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) raised concerns over the power supply situation in Telangana as six party teams visited thermal power stations and the Singareni headquarters on Thursday. Acting on a call by BRS working president KT Rama Rao, the teams visited the Yadadri, Jaipur, Kothagudem, Manuguru and Bhupalpally thermal power facilities, besides Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad. The teams sought details on coal stocks, power generation and the functioning of various units. Tensions were reported at some locations after police stopped party leaders from entering the plants.

BRS leaders also raised allegations regarding coal production, stocks and supply at Singareni. The party claimed that there was a discrepancy involving around 40 lakh tonnes of coal and demanded an independent investigation. A fact-finding committee submitted a representation to Singareni officials at its Hyderabad headquarters. Meanwhile, the Telangana government has directed officials to restore full-scale generation at the Yadadri plant and take steps to procure the required coal from other sources, citing concerns over the availability of the required G-9 grade coal.
