Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu urged the Central Government to release funds promised earlier for various centrally sponsored schemes and pending projects in the state. During his visit to New Delhi, the Chief Minister met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil separately and discussed several key issues concerning Andhra Pradesh.
Chandrababu requested the Centre to extend financial assistance for pending bifurcation-related commitments and developmental projects. During his meeting with CR Patil, the Chief Minister sought full support for the completion of the Polavaram Project before the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu. He informed the minister that the new diaphragm wall construction was completed by April 2, 2026, and that major Earth-cum-Rock Fill Dam works were progressing rapidly. He also requested the permanent withdrawal of the 2011 stop-work orders linked to pending public hearings in Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Additionally, Chandrababu sought reimbursement for the increased canal capacity works and requested release of further funds for the remaining stages of the project.
