Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday reviewed the arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram on August 1. He directed officials to organise the event on a grand scale, describing the airport as a landmark project that will become a jewel of North Andhra. The Chief Minister also instructed officials to welcome the Prime Minister with traditional tribal performances such as Dhimsa, Savara, and Kommu Koya dances, showcasing the region's rich cultural heritage.
Besides inaugurating the passenger terminal, Prime Minister Modi is also expected to launch the GMR Skill Development Centre, Aviation Hub-University, and the GMR-MANSAS EduCity. Chandrababu said the airport would transform North Andhra into a major logistics and global connectivity hub, accelerating the state's economic growth. He also directed officials to honour landowners who contributed land for the project with a complimentary flight, ensure extensive public outreach until July 31, make elaborate arrangements for the public meeting, and provide seamless traffic management, security, parking, food, drinking water, and other amenities for visitors.
