CJP Withdraws Protest Call.. Centre’s Key Move for Student Relief

The CJP has informed the Supreme Court that it is withdrawing its proposed protest in Delhi on September 5. The decision comes amid the Centre’s submission before the apex court seeking the invocation of Article 142 to quash FIRs registered against students in connection with student protests held across the country. The Centre’s submission is expected to bring relief to students facing cases related to the protests.

The Centre also informed the Supreme Court that steps are being taken to provide compensation to victims affected by question paper leaks. According to the submission, the compensation process is expected to be completed within three months. The developments come as the Supreme Court considers the issues surrounding student protests, FIRs and the concerns of those affected by examination-related irregularities.
