The Andhra Pradesh government has placed the state on high alert due to severe heatwave conditions and rising temperatures. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted an emergency review meeting and directed officials to remain fully vigilant to protect public health and safety. He instructed authorities to issue local holidays in areas experiencing extreme heat and ensure continuous public alerts in high-temperature zones.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for immediate relief measures, including the distribution of drinking water, buttermilk, and ORS packets in crowded areas. He also directed awareness campaigns through media and social platforms, and advised vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, pregnant women, and sick individuals to avoid outdoor exposure during peak hours. Officials informed that heat shelters and cooling arrangements have been set up across urban regions to mitigate the impact.
