Chanchalguda Jail Officials Offer Insight into Prison Life

The Telangana Jail Experience has begun at the Chanchalguda Prison Complex in Hyderabad, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience the environment and routine of prison life under supervision. The programme provides a closer look at the historic prison setting, barracks, discipline and daily routines associated with inmates. The experience is available from August 25 to September 30.

Participants can surrender their mobile phones, wear prison-provided uniforms and have standard jail meals while taking part in activities such as physical training, yoga, meditation, parade, work assignments and vocational programmes. The four-hour experience costs ₹500, while eight-hour, 12-hour and 24-hour options are priced at ₹750, ₹1,000 and ₹1,500 respectively. The programme is open to those aged 18 and above.
