The Central Government is preparing to roll out the Gems of India Challenge across the country after encouraging results from its pilot phase. Designed to highlight the unique identity of every district, the initiative focuses on promoting local history, cultural heritage, traditional practices, and tourism attractions through engaging digital content created by independent creators and storytellers.
Officials said feedback and insights from the pilot programme will be used to implement the initiative in all states and Union Territories in phases. The government also plans to build a strong nationwide network of digital creators to showcase India's regional diversity, helping boost tourism, preserve cultural heritage, and increase global awareness of the country's lesser-known destinations.
