Centre Clears Bogapuram Airport

Bogapuram International Airport has achieved a major milestone after receiving official recognition from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The Central Government has issued a Gazette notification bringing the airport under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, paving the way for direct international flight operations from the airport.

With this approval, Bogapuram Airport has secured a place among India's Category-1 international airports, becoming the 39th airport in the category. Immigration and visa facilities, along with international security procedures, will now be available at the airport. The development is expected to significantly improve international connectivity for North Andhra Pradesh while boosting tourism, investments, industrial growth, and employment opportunities.
