Centre Clarifies on Aadhaar Rumours

The Central Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has strongly denied viral claims circulating on social media about changes to Aadhaar cards. Reports suggesting that names and addresses will be removed, leaving only photos and QR codes, have been declared completely false and misleading. The government clarified that no such proposal is under consideration.

Authorities have urged citizens not to believe or spread such misinformation and rely only on official updates from UIDAI. The ministry warned that such fake posts create unnecessary confusion among the public and emphasized that Aadhaar’s existing format will continue without any changes.
