The central government has announced revised daily wage rates under the rural employment scheme Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB GRAM JI). In Andhra Pradesh, the wage increase is limited to just ₹5, raising the daily wage from ₹307 to ₹312. In contrast, several other states received hikes ranging from ₹44 to ₹66.
States like Himachal Pradesh saw the highest increase, while Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, and others received moderate revisions. Southern states such as Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu also saw higher wage levels compared to Andhra Pradesh. The notification was issued by the Ministry of Rural Development and came into effect from July 1.
