CEC Gyanesh Kumar Should Resign - B Vinod Kumar

BRS leader and former minister B. Vinod Kumar demanded that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar voluntarily resign from his post. He also said that if the CEC did not step down, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove him after taking into account the allegations raised against him. Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, Vinod Kumar said the Election Commission of India is an independent constitutional body and is not meant to determine who should win or lose an election.

Vinod Kumar alleged that votes were being deliberately deleted under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and criticised the functioning of the Election Commission. He urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognisance of the matter and report it to the President, describing the situation as a potential constitutional crisis. The Election Commission, however, has stated that the SIR order and schedule were unanimously approved by all three members of the poll panel.
