Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called for a robust four-layer security framework to safeguard the nation’s borders, emphasizing the coordinated role of the Border Security Force, Army, local residents, and the civil administration. He stated that a secure border cannot be envisioned without seamless coordination among these four pillars. Stressing that border protection should not remain the sole responsibility of security forces, he urged greater participation and awareness among people living in border areas and local governance systems.
Addressing security personnel at a BSF outpost in Sanchu, located in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, Shah highlighted the need for constant vigilance against threats originating from across the border. He also warned that security forces must remain alert to internal threats that may arise due to directives from across the border. He underlined the importance of proactive preparedness and coordination to effectively counter both external and internal security challenges.
