Cash-for-Vote Case: Revanth Reddy Gets Relief

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and three others have secured legal relief in the 2015 cash-for-vote case. The SAFEMA Appellate Tribunal in New Delhi set aside the order confirming the Enforcement Directorate’s attachment of ₹50 lakh in connection with the case. The tribunal’s order was passed on September 14, 2026, by a bench headed by Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari.

The case originated from an Anti-Corruption Bureau investigation into an alleged bribe offer during the 2015 MLC election. According to the case record, the ACB had seized the alleged ₹50 lakh and deposited the cash with the trial court. The tribunal observed that since the money was already secured in court custody, there was no likelihood of it being dealt with or transferred in a way that could frustrate eventual confiscation. It therefore set aside the confirmation of the ED attachment. The relief concerns the attachment proceedings and does not by itself amount to a final determination of the criminal case.
