A Boeing 737 cargo aircraft operated by K2 Airways disappeared while flying from Sharjah to Karachi, triggering a large-scale search and rescue operation. The aircraft, carrying five crew members, reportedly informed air traffic control of a navigation system malfunction shortly before contact was lost. Pakistani authorities have deployed air and naval assets to locate the missing aircraft.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the crew reported the navigation issue at around 9:18 p.m. local time. Within minutes, the aircraft made a sharp change in heading, rapidly lost altitude, and disappeared from both radar and radio communication about 155 nautical miles west of Karachi over the Arabian Sea. The cause of the incident remains unknown, and search operations are continuing.
