Car Catches Fire After Crashing into Truck in Visakhapatnam

A fatal road accident took place on the Anandapuram-Pendurthi service road along National Highway 16 in Visakhapatnam district. The incident occurred near Sattaruvu Junction under Gandigundam limits when a car reportedly crashed into a truck travelling ahead. The impact triggered a fire in the car’s engine, and the vehicle was engulfed in flames within moments. The driver was unable to escape and was trapped inside the burning car, resulting in his death.

Police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information, but the car had already been completely gutted by the time they arrived. Anandapuram SI Siva inspected the accident site. During the preliminary investigation, police found that the car’s number plate had become lodged in the truck involved in the collision. Investigators are using the number plate and other available evidence to establish the identity of the deceased. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
