

The Telangana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, approved the construction of 2.5 lakh Indiramma houses under the second phase of the housing scheme. The government decided to allocate 2,000 houses to each Assembly constituency. The second phase will be formally launched on June 1 at Sirpur Kagaznagar in Asifabad district. The Cabinet also approved the construction of one lakh additional houses in 24 Assembly constituencies within Hyderabad’s core urban area.
Several other important decisions were also taken during the Cabinet meeting. The government decided to issue housing sanction letters to 15,000 families living in huts across the state. Approval was also given for implementing a midday meal scheme in junior colleges from the next academic year. The Cabinet allocated ₹1,000 crore for works related to the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu and ₹587 crore for the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme. It also approved the Next Generation Life Sciences Policy 2026–30 to promote investments and employment in the life sciences sector.
