Police have registered cases against 14 BRS MLAs, including K. T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao, in connection with the clashes near the Telangana Assembly. The cases were filed based on a complaint by CI Balaswamy over allegations that on-duty police personnel were pushed, grabbed by their collars, verbally abused and threatened. A complaint was also made alleging that inappropriate remarks were directed at women police personnel.
The cases have been registered under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said the investigation will be based on video recordings, CCTV footage and media footage related to the incident. The development comes after police had already arrested BRS MLCs Thatha Madhu and Naveen Kumar Reddy in connection with the protests. Further action is expected based on the findings of the investigation.
