Brothers Carry Elderly Parents on Kanwar Yatra

Sanjeev Kumar and Anil Kumar, brothers from Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh, have drawn widespread appreciation for carrying their elderly parents on a Kanwar pilgrimage. After collecting holy Ganga water in Haridwar as part of the yatra, the brothers began their return journey, carrying their aged parents in a traditional kanwar. They reportedly walked nearly 200 kilometres while undertaking the pilgrimage, inspiring fellow Kanwariyas who witnessed their devotion.

The brothers were praised as “Kaliyuga Shravan Kumars”, a reference to the legendary figure known for his devotion and service to his parents. Speaking about their journey, Sanjeev and Anil said they did not seek any special boon from Lord Shiva. For them, caring for their parents was itself the highest form of pilgrimage. Their act of devotion has resonated with fellow pilgrims and highlighted the importance of filial love and service to elderly parents.
