The grand Bonalu festival, a vibrant symbol of Telangana's culture and traditions, is set to begin on Thursday across Hyderabad and surrounding districts. Women dressed in traditional attire will carry Bonam offerings to temples amid the beats of drums, performances by Pothurajus, and devotional processions. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended his greetings to devotees, describing Bonalu as a spiritual and cultural celebration that reflects the unity and heritage of Telangana.
The Telangana government has completed all arrangements to conduct the festival in more than 3,000 temples across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts under the supervision of the Endowments Department. The Chief Minister recalled that the government allocated ₹20 crore for this year's Bonalu celebrations. Later, Revanth Reddy also attended the official dinner hosted during the BRICS Trade Union Forum Summit 2026 at Falaknuma Palace, where he met ministers from several participating nations.
