

Hyderabad has taken on a spiritual atmosphere as the city gears up for the Ashada Bonalu festival. The Telangana government has completed all arrangements to conduct the festival, which represents the state’s culture and traditions, on a grand scale. The celebrations will officially begin with the offering of the first Bonam on behalf of the government at the Jagadambika Mahankali Temple inside Golconda Fort. Ministers Konda Surekha, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar are expected to participate in the event. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will offer silk clothes at the Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad on August 2.
As part of the celebrations, ministers and public representatives will present silk clothes at 29 major temples across Hyderabad. The elephant Ambari procession will be a major attraction during the closing events, with a 34-year-old elephant named Lakshmi being brought from Karnataka. The government has sanctioned Rs 20 crore for the festival arrangements, including temple preparations, promotions, drinking water, sanitation, crowd management, and security measures. Police, GHMC, and endowments officials are coordinating arrangements for devotees.
