The Ashada Bonalu festivities commenced on a grand note with the offering of the first Bonam to Goddess Jagadambika at the historic Golconda Fort. Forest, Environment and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha and Hyderabad In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar participated in the inaugural celebrations, offering silk robes to the deity. The event featured traditional drum performances, Pothuraju processions, Shiva Sattulu rituals, and vibrant cultural performances.
On the occasion, the ministers released the Ashada Bonalu festival booklet and handed over a ₹11 lakh cheque to the Jagadambika Temple Committee on behalf of the state government. Extending Bonalu greetings to the people, Minister Konda Surekha expressed hope that the blessings of Goddess Jagadambika would reduce the impact of El Niño and bring abundant rainfall to Telangana. She also stated that the Revanth Reddy-led government remains committed to public welfare and has allocated funds for both major and smaller temples to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
