BJP’s New National Team Likely to Be Announced Today

The BJP is reportedly set to announce its new national team, with party president Nitin Nabin likely to unveil the new office-bearers and key organisational committees today. The new team is expected to give greater representation to youth and women, while several Union ministers may also be assigned party responsibilities. The leadership is believed to have considered regional and social equations as well as the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections while finalising the team.

Party sources say Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Nitin Nabin and B.L. Santosh have been working on the organisational changes for about a month. There is also speculation that a reshuffle of the Union Cabinet could follow the announcement of the new BJP team. Clarity is expected on the new appointments, key organisational positions and the Union ministers who may receive party responsibilities.
