BJP Levels Serious Allegations Against Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann and Wife

The BJP has levelled serious allegations against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and his wife Gurpreet Kaur, accusing them of allegedly running a racket to settle rape cases in exchange for bribes of up to ₹5 crore. The BJP claimed that the Chief Minister’s Office had become a hub for such alleged illegal deals. It also referred to allegations that Gurpreet Kaur had demanded ₹5 crore to get a rape case quashed, following which the National Human Rights Commission ordered an inquiry on August 21.

Addressing the media on Thursday, BJP national general secretary Pradeep Bhandari alleged that Kejriwal, Mann and his wife had turned Punjab into an “AAP loot model”. He claimed that intermediaries had been appointed across the state to facilitate alleged illegal deals. During the press conference, Bhandari played an audio recording in which a person claiming to be a middleman allegedly referred to Kejriwal as the “super CM” and said that the Chief Minister had also been informed and was intervening in the matter. The allegations and the authenticity of the recording remain subject to verification.
