A tragic incident occurred in Bihar’s Saran district during an aerial flood relief operation. Authorities said a 58-year-old man died after a food packet dropped from a helicopter struck him on the head. The incident took place on Friday afternoon in Parshurampur village under the jurisdiction of Amnour police station, where flood-affected residents had gathered near relief camps to receive essential supplies.
The victim, identified as Anil Kumar Singh, suffered severe head injuries after being struck by the packet and died at the spot, according to officials. In another incident in the same area, strong winds generated by the helicopter while flying at a low altitude caused a sheet of metal to become airborne and hit a woman. She was taken to a hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition. Several parts of Bihar are currently dealing with severe flooding, prompting relief agencies to use aerial operations to deliver food and other essential supplies.
