IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that all development works related to the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City will be completed by March 2028. Spread across 3,245 acres, the industrial hub aims to attract investments worth Rs 15,000 crore. Once fully operational, the smart city is expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for around two lakh people. Sridhar Babu participated virtually from the Telangana Secretariat in a video conference of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust, chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal.
The Telangana government holds a 51 percent share in the project in the form of land, while the Centre is providing funds for development works. Sridhar Babu said the tender process for water supply works has been completed and electricity supply works will also be completed within the stipulated deadline. He also urged Union Minister Piyush Goyal to allocate four of the 100 plug-and-play industrial parks announced by the Centre under the Bhavya scheme to Telangana. He said the additional industrial parks would further strengthen the state’s industrial growth and investment potential.
