Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy launched a sharp attack on the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, alleging that the institution has been neglecting Vedic and religious programmes for the past two-and-a-half years. He said TTD had traditionally conducted yagnas for the welfare of the nation, state and people, and questioned why a Varuna Yagam was not being organised despite the prevailing drought-like conditions.
Bhumana alleged that Vedic traditions and programmes aimed at preserving Vedic culture were being neglected. Recalling that several religious programmes and yagnas were conducted during his tenure, he demanded that TTD immediately organise a Varuna Yagam and focus on public welfare rather than VIP services. He said his remarks were not merely criticism but an appeal to protect and preserve the institution’s Vedic traditions.
