Bhogapuram International Airport Likely to Begin Operations Within a Month: Ram Mohan Naidu

Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has announced that Bhogapuram International Airport is expected to become operational within the next month. Speaking to the media after participating in a workshop on the implementation of the UDAN 2.0 scheme, the minister said that all major construction works at the airport have been completed. He added that the Centre has requested the Prime Minister to inaugurate the prestigious project, and flight operations will commence within a month once the date is finalised.

In a significant development, the Union Home Ministry has recently included Bhogapuram Airport under the provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, issuing an official gazette notification. With this recognition, Bhogapuram has become the 39th Category-I airport in the country and has been designated as an Immigration Check Post. The move will facilitate international flight operations and strengthen air connectivity for Andhra Pradesh.
