Bengaluru has strengthened its position as the world's leading Global Capability Centre (GCC) hub, crossing 1,100 GCCs in 2026. During the first six months of the year alone, 66 new centres were established, with global companies such as Merck KGaA, Under Armour, Kraft Heinz, Warner Music Group, Dolby Laboratories, and Toast choosing the city for technology, engineering, finance, and research operations.
The city's strong engineering and AI talent, vibrant startup ecosystem, premier institutions, and Karnataka's GCC friendly policies have driven this growth. More than 650,000 professionals are employed across these centres, while increasing demand from the technology workforce is also pushing up rents and land prices in areas such as Whitefield, Sarjapur Road, Bellandur, Hebbal, and Devanahalli.
