Weather conditions over the Bay of Bengal are changing, with a new low-pressure system likely to develop over the southeast Bay of Bengal by Tuesday. According to the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority, the system is expected to form under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the North Andaman Sea. Its development could bring another spell of rainfall to parts of Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring regions, particularly along the coast.
Weather forecasts indicate that the system may intensify over the next three to four days and move west-northwestwards towards the northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh coasts. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema could experience moderate to widespread rainfall, accompanied by stronger winds. However, the possibility of the system developing into a depression remains uncertain, as different national and international weather models offer varying predictions. Authorities expect greater clarity on its intensity and movement over the next 24 to 48 hours. Coastal residents and fishermen have been advised to follow official weather bulletins and take necessary precautions, as sea conditions could deteriorate if the system strengthens.
