Bathukamma Celebrations Bloom in North Carolina

Bathukamma celebrations were held with great enthusiasm in the Cannon Run area of Concord, North Carolina, USA. Telangana women living in the region came together to celebrate the festival, which symbolizes the state’s rich culture and traditions. They beautifully arranged Bathukammas with colourful flowers available locally, gathered around them, and sang traditional Bathukamma songs. The celebrations concluded with the immersion of the floral arrangements in water.

Women dressed in traditional attire added colour to the festivities, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with songs, dances and joy. The celebration brought together Telangana women and their families, strengthening their cultural bonds despite living far from their homeland. By celebrating Bathukamma on foreign soil, the Telugu community preserved its traditions and helped introduce Telangana’s cultural heritage to future generations.
