Bank of America Vice President Killed in Times Square Attack

A 32-year-old Bank of America vice president, Erin Piacenti, was fatally stabbed in a random attack at New York’s Times Square on Monday. A 49-year-old woman from Queens allegedly pulled two knives from a bag and attacked two people. A 68-year-old man was stabbed first, followed shortly afterward by Piacenti, who suffered critical injuries and later died in hospital. The other victim remains under treatment.

Police officers confronted the suspect and repeatedly ordered her to drop the knives. When she allegedly advanced toward the officers, police opened fire, killing her. Piacenti had reportedly recently become a mother and had returned to work after maternity leave shortly before the tragedy. Bank of America expressed deep sorrow over the loss of its employee and colleague.
