A baby girl was born into the Dahiphale family in Beed district of Maharashtra after nearly 200 years, bringing immense joy to the family. The newborn, named Gargi, is the first daughter born in the fifth generation. The family welcomed her with a grand procession from the hospital to their home, with relatives dancing to drums and traditional musical instruments.
Grandmother Surekha Dahiphale said the family decided at the hospital itself to give the baby a grand welcome. Gargi’s grandfather, Limbaji Dahiphale, became emotional while speaking about the long-awaited arrival of a girl in the family and said the family’s long-standing void had finally been filled. Social activist Anant Ingle praised the family, saying the celebrations sent a positive message to society about welcoming the birth of girls.
