The 20th Asian Games came to a successful conclusion in Nagoya, Japan, on October 4 following two weeks of intense sporting action. A grand closing ceremony was held at the Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium, bringing the continental multi-sport event to an official close. Athletes and officials from across Asia took part in the celebrations as the Games concluded on a high note.
A key moment of the closing ceremony was the official handover of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) flag. The flag was transferred from the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 organisers to the team representing Doha, Qatar, which will host the next edition of the Asian Games in 2030. The handover marked the formal transition from Japan to Qatar and carried forward the spirit of unity and sporting friendship across the continent.
