Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi Retires from Service

Chief of the Indian Army General Upendra Dwivedi has retired from military service. Before demitting office, he visited the National War Memorial in New Delhi and paid floral tributes to the fallen soldiers. He honoured the brave personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.

Reflecting on his four-decade-long military career, General Dwivedi said it was the greatest honour of his life to rise from being a Sainik School student to serving as the Army Chief. He emotionally stated that the sacrifices of soldiers, the resilience of their families, and the unwavering trust of the people remain the true strength of the Indian Army.
