An Indian Army Cheetah helicopter crashed near the Tangtse region close to Leh in Ladakh, and the incident came to light after a delay. The accident reportedly took place on May 20, in which Major General Sachin Mehta and two other officers sustained injuries. Fortunately, all three survived the crash, according to military sources.
The single-engine helicopter was being operated by a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major at the time of the accident. Major General Sachin Mehta, who serves as the General Officer Commanding of the 3rd Infantry Division, was travelling in the helicopter during the crash. The Indian Army has reportedly initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
