Apple’s new CEO John Ternus is set to receive a target compensation package of approximately $58 million for fiscal 2027. According to Apple’s filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the package includes a $3 million annual base salary and a $55 million annual equity award. Around 75% of the equity award will be tied to Apple’s performance relative to other S&P 500 companies, while the remaining 25% will consist of time-based restricted stock units.
Meanwhile, Tim Cook, who has moved into the role of executive chairman, will receive a $2 million annual salary and a $45 million equity award for fiscal 2027, taking his target package to about $47 million. Ternus officially became Apple CEO on September 1. He joined Apple in 2001 and previously served as senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, playing a key role in the development of products including the iPhone, iPad, Mac and AirPods.
