AP SIR: Objections Process Completed; Final Voter List to Be Published on October 3

The objection process under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh has been completed, marking a crucial stage in the revision of the state’s voter list. Notices were issued to more than 44 lakh voters who reportedly did not have address details or other required supporting documents. The electoral authorities are also examining the supporting records of around 24 lakh voters as part of the verification process.

So far, nearly 15,000 voters have been identified as ineligible, according to the details released on the SIR exercise. Authorities are scheduled to complete the disposal of objections by September 28. Following the completion of verification and the resolution of objections, the final electoral roll for Andhra Pradesh is scheduled to be published on October 3. The exercise is aimed at ensuring that the electoral roll contains eligible voters and accurate details.
