AP SEC Meeting with Political Parties Concludes

The meeting convened by the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) with representatives of political parties to discuss the conduct of local body elections has concluded. Representatives from 19 political parties attended the meeting and offered several suggestions. They stressed the need to avoid delays in issuing caste certificates and no-dues certificates. They also called for effective measures to regulate liquor during the elections.

SEC Anil said the election process should not disrupt Dasara festivities. He stated that instructions would be issued to the concerned districts based on the suggestions received from political parties. The commission will examine the possibility of introducing an online nomination system and ensure adequate police deployment in sensitive areas. He added that local body elections would be conducted in accordance with the law.
