Addressing the gathering, Chandrababu Naidu said Police Commemoration Day honours those who laid down their lives to protect the nation and its people. He recalled that ten police personnel were killed while repelling a Chinese attack in Ladakh on October 21, 1959, and said the day is observed in their memory. He praised the Andhra Pradesh Police for their role in controlling factional violence, tackling extremism and preventing communal clashes. He stressed that law and order, economic development and employment opportunities are closely linked, adding that a secure environment attracts investments.
The Chief Minister urged police personnel to combine courage with compassion and treat every person approaching a police station with dignity. He called for strict action against criminals operating under political protection, rowdy elements and cybercriminals who steal people's hard-earned money. Emphasising modern policing, he highlighted the importance of CCTV cameras, data analysis, drones and artificial intelligence in crime prevention and investigation. He said the Andhra Pradesh Police should earn nationwide recognition for being at the forefront of technology.
