AP Pilgrims Stranded in Floods.. Lokesh Reviews Situation

Severe flooding in Nepal has triggered anxiety among several families in Andhra Pradesh after they were unable to receive any information about relatives who had travelled for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra for the past 24 hours. Concerns have intensified as some AP pilgrims are believed to be in areas affected by the disaster, while several mobile phones remain switched off. The Andhra Pradesh government has stepped up its response and RTGS officials are collecting details of state residents stranded in Nepal. According to preliminary information, seven people from Andhra Pradesh have been reported missing.

Minister Nara Lokesh reviewed the situation and directed officials to remain in constant touch with the Central government to trace those reported missing. He also instructed authorities to make arrangements to safely bring back all Andhra Pradesh residents stranded in Nepal, including Kurnool district resident Bhaskar Shastri, who is reported to be safe despite being caught in the floods. Following the minister's directions, IT Secretary Katamneni Bhaskar is continuously monitoring the situation from the RTGS centre and coordinating the response.
